So every year my work gives the employees a turkey for Thanksgiving. In the past I have either frozen it or given it to my mother-in-law (because we never eat Thanksgiving dinner at our house...always at Dave's parents). This year I feel compelled to persuade myself that I am domestic...so now that Colton, Bryson, and Chey have gone back to Cedar City and the girls go back to school tomorrow, I am gonna cook that turkey!!! Ewww...I had to turn my head as I pulled the spare parts out of the the bird (wearing latex gloves cuz I just cannot handle it!)...got that gagging feeling that I get at the dentist when they do the bitewing x-rays. Gross! The doc I work for told me I need to try brining the turkey, so I took it out of the bag, washed it, patted it dry, then immersed it in this big oven bag full of water and seasonings where it must soak overnight. Once Dave helped me place the clean turkey into the seasoned water and seal the buldging bag...all I could think is it looks like a buldging bag of amniotic fluid...someone get me an amniohook and let's break some water!!! Well, after the birdie is cooked I will post pictures so you can see my beautiful work!!!
