Turning 38 and other things...

Yesterday I turned 38 years old. I cannot believe that I am this old! In my mind I should still be at least 35. Of late I have struggled a bit with the idea that the better, healthier years of my life are slipping away, but have also found a lot of joy in watching the kids grow.
Yesterday morning one of Kira's favorite authors, Brandon Mull, came to her school to do a book-signing. He writes the Fablehaven series and also wrote The Candy Shop War. It was fun to meet him and ask him questions about his writing. He also autographed one of Kira's Fablehaven books. Here are a couple of pictures:

Then, when I got to work Dr. Cannon had a couple of two liters of Diet Dr. Pepper (nectar of the gods) on my desk with ribbons around them and later she bought me lunch...thanks, Dr. Cannon :)
I bugged out of work an hour early. When I got home there was a big sign wishing me a happy birthday...

Kira also made me two cards (one of which is made of like 16 sheets of paper taped together). Since she does not know how to bake, she made me a birthday "cake" out of things she found in the pantry...fruity pebbles, mini-marshmallows, butterscotch disks, and dum-dum suckers (I think those were the "candles"). Here is a picture of it:

Last night after David got home we had a yummy, very rich, chocolate fudge cake with some really good "BYU Cougar Craze" ice cream (not sure what was in it exactly but it was yummy). All in all a decent birthday, but I still would rather not age!!!

So my Sis in law thought that she would slip past and not get her 38 birthday spankings! Naughty girl! So here goes.....

5 Reasons that Deb Needles should get into heaven!!

1. She is a advocate for children and looks at them as a light in the dark.

2. She calls just to talk (not many people do this anymore).

3. She can take the bad and look at the good. (Even if she is kicking and screaming about it)

4. She is the type of person that would stop everything she is doing if you need help. Even miss church for you. (Ha, ha)

5. She has a reason for everything.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEB!! Have a great week!

Live Feed...I like to know who is visiting me! I am also trying to keep people away from my site, if they don't make themselves known. It has been interesting!!!
