Last Weekend

This has been a busy week, so I am just getting around to posting pictures from last weekend. On Friday of last week Kira was recognized at an assembly. She got a certificate for scoring in the top ten percentile nationally on the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (a nationwide assessment test). We are really proud of her and her academic achievements...

These are the fifth graders that scored in the top ten percent nationally in at least one category of the test (she scored top ten percent in three categories-science, social studies, and composition- *beaming proud mother*)...

After school we headed down to Cedar City to spend the weekend with the Colton, Bryson, and Chey. We spent some time playing in the pool (if you look closely you can see Kira is using a bendy straw for a snorkel. She and Chey got the waitress at IHOP to give them a handful of colorful bendy straws!)...

Enjoying the 42 inch flat screen in our room (the boys now want to stay at this hotel every time we go there because of this!)...

Enjoying the wi-fi...

We also went exploring in the underground storm drains. The kids were fascinated with the idea of walking around "under the city"...

Colton, Bryson, and Chey think this sign was taken out of their yard. Utah is very republican. Isn't it too bad some people won't allow other people to have an opinion? :(

This is probably the only place in Cedar City that you can see graffiti...

Dave and the older 3 kids walked around the storm drains for almost an hour, I turned back with the younger two when Chey got a little freaked out...

When Bryson and Katelyn came out they were trying to convince me that Dave and Colton were lost and that they had found Colton's phone with the numbers 9-1-1 pushed on it. Fortunately, since I am married to David (who looooooves to pull jokes on me), I didn't fall for it.

We also went to see Coraline at the theater. It was good, but kind of odd. You would have to see it to understand.

Those are some pretty cool pictures of under ground. How fun to explore!
