Maya's Surgery

On December 16, Maya had surgery at Primary Children's Medical Center. She had a dermoid cyst removed from her skull by Dr. Riva-Cambrin. We had to be at the hospital at 6 am. They got her gowned up and got her IV started...

Then off they took her to the operating room. A little over an hour later she was in the recovery room and we could go and sit with her.

We were home by noon and she had some liquid Lortab for the pain. She did great and is healing up nicely! She will probably have a little scar on her right forehead, but her hair should cover it when it grows in. We are so relieved it is over and she is fine. Oh...and it was FREE because we already met our out of pocket max for the year. Woo hoo!

What a sweetie! No wonder daddy won't let her cry...I would be inclined to do the same thing with her having to have surgery. Is she going to have red hair...so cute! Glad to hear that her surgery went well and that you are on the other side of all of that...and that you didn't have to pay for it...woohoo indeed!
