Kira's Birthday Party

Kira wanted a Panda birthday party this year (thought we had outgrown themed parties, but I guess not!), so I found a panda cake online and gave it a try.

Kira drew this Littlest Pet Shop picture freehand, then we took it to Kinko's and had it blown up.  She made bunch of little paper "paws" and we played pin the paw on the panda (again...thought we had outgrown this, but guess not!).

We were proud of our hard work.  Then it was time for her friends to come.

And then it was time for birthday cake.  We couldn't bear to stick candles in the panda cake, so we improvised (see video clip)...

It always kills me to cut my cute cakes, but finally we worked up the nerve to amputate the Panda cake's limbs.  It was painful!  I was so sad to have the cuteness disappear!  After the cake the girls all watched "Beastly" and then slept out in the camper (Quiet at last!).

As always, Maya enjoyed making a mess with the cake!
