Let's see...what's new and exciting here? Moby is settling in as dog #2. For the most part he and Zoie get along fine. It has been interesting though to watch Zoie, who has always been a very mellow dog, as she starts to learn to stick up for herself. When Moby first came to live with us Zoie was pretty passive as far as he was concerned, but now she readily squabbles with him over a toy or a treat or snuggle time with me. It is pretty funny to watch her tell him to "step off".

Kira is back in school. She is in fifth grade now and loves it. Katelyn isn't home from Maryland yet (it has felt like forever that she has been gone...eight weeks!), but she comes home tomorrow night and we are very excited for that. In a few weeks she starts junior high. That just blows my mind. When did I get old enough for this??? I guess my gray hairs will attest to the fact that I AM old enough, but it just is amazing to me how fast their growing-up years are flying by. I wish there was a way to slow it all down, but alas...there is not. Kinda makes me think of that old Jim Croce song, "Time in a Bottle". *sigh*

Toward the end of the month we have three birthdays to celebrate...Colton will be 15 (his driver's permit is getting close!) and Kira and CheyAnn will both be 10. Kira does not want to get older and wants to start counting backwards on her birthdays already. I didn't start doing that until I turned 30!
