OK...if ya'll don't mind, I feel I must take a moment to blog about purebred dogs. In my entire life I have had 7 or 8 dogs (two now, the rest as a kid). I grew up in Iowa with parents that taught me that it was good to get dogs from the pound because they need a home, rather than spend a bunch of money on a purebred dog. I still firmly believe that is true despite the fact that some people have told me that they would not adopt dogs from the pound because they "have behavior problems" or whatever. Every dog I have ever had has been great. That being said, this new dog, Moby, is a purebred...not because we wanted a purebred...we just took him because he needed a home. As I said in an earlier post, we did not pay a dime for him. Since he is a purebred, the gal that gave him to us gave Dave his papers yesterday. I have to share this because I found it so funny. Anyone that hasn't had a purebred before may appreciate this.
1. He had A WARRANTY...a warranty on a dog??? Guaranteeing it won't die for at least ten days??? Yeah...that's worth $400 some people pay for purebreds. Are you kidding me???
2. His geneology or "pedigree"...it's got all the same brackets as the geneology charts we use at church. I found this hysterical. When David first told me about it, I thought..."And Fido begat Spot. And Spot begat Fluffy..." Too funny.
3. Some of the names of Moby's "ancestors"...I suppose some of them were show dogs or bred so they had to have fancy names. A few that I found the funniest: "Fluffy Muffin Baby", "Muddy River's Yum Yum Tobi", and "Jordan's Foxy Man". Where do people come up with this stuff?
Now Moby is a decent little dog, but I'm gonna be honest here...my little Zoie from the pound is much better and Moby has taught her the bad habit of barking. Think I will just stick with the pound.

That's hilarious! Now that I think about it I believe our siamese cats came with pedigree charts too. But no warranties. Maybe we could have could have bartered for one of those? Ha ha! I remember thinking the pedigree chart was a little weird though and wondered why on earth we would want that.
I will update SOON!
