Thanks for the feedback!

Goodness...looks like some of us have very passionate views! I have to say I love that...that is the wonderful thing about living in this country and enjoying the freedom to express ourselves that we do. If it were not for Sarah Palin I have to admit I would vote for John McCain...but I don't know if I will get past my issues with her or not. I realize it is not her job to raise her daughter's baby...what I meant is that her daughter will need support. I suppose financially she could accomplish that, but I am just thinking of what I would do if (God forbid!) my daughter found herself in that situation. I also totally get that her being in office would raise awareness about Downs (although working in OB it is pretty common to me), I also know that most children with Downs require fairly constant supervision and teaching...I guess I am wondering who will be doing that if she is so busy helping run the country. I don't care that she has a career....but I think being VP would be pretty life consuming and I think the things that should be the most important in her life would suffer. I realize a nanny or her husband could do it...but I have firm belief in the sacred role of motherhood...that is where my issue w/ her lies. My other concern is that some of her public appearances she has not sounded particularly intelligent and I have concerns about her taking over if McCain were to kick the bucket...being that he is an old dude. What if he kicks the bucket the day after the election? I have more faith in Obama than her. I totally admire McCain. I think he is qualified. I don't find Obama cute or sexy. But I do think he has some good ideas. I tend to vote Republican but officially I am an Independant. I don't want to vote based solely on party affilliation. So much for me to think about. I appreciate all of the "food for thought" you have given me. Like I said, I still need to watch the VP debate. Although I must admit I am tempted to vote for McCain/Palin just so I can keep watching Tina Fey immitate Palin (lol). Jenny L...I have not seen the Palin/Hillary one...will have to look for it. Thank you all for your opinions...gives me lots of things to think about!

Thanks for your thoughts! I have felt the same things about Palin...in fact my Mom and I talk often about her role as a mother in the midst of all of her campaigning, etc. The weird thing is that so many of the men I talk to think that she is great...at least they did when she was first introduced at the Republican Convention. I am so torn on this election as well. Having had personal experience with losing health benefits because of a layoff or not being offered benefits it really hits home. $5000 to buy my own health insurance is not enough...and that doesn't even guarantee that you will be approved. Anyway, I'm on the fence as well. A lot of the issues that Obama talks about are issues that we are facing in our family...so we'll see.
