Gratitude

For the past year our ward has met at 1 pm (because three wards share our building, so we rotate starting times each year). For 2009, our ward meets at 9 am. Being a morning person, I am delighted about this. Katelyn...not so much...she wants to attend another ward so she can sleep later---yeah...that'll be happening. Anyway...with church being so late last year, David could never go with us cuz he always had to be working. Well, since church is at 9 now, he came to church with us today. It was so nice to have him there...so nice that it brought tears to my eyes.

One of the speakers in Sacrament meeting today referenced a Relief Society lesson that was given last year in which the teacher talked about keeping a gratitude journal...she even gave us little notebooks that would fit in our purses. I remember that lesson...to be honest I haven't been doing it...but today I felt motivated to try to focus more on my blessings than all of the difficulties that seem to come with day to day life. I am terrible at keeping any kind of journal (which is odd considering what a diligent blogger I am)...so I am thinking of making a gratitude journal of sorts on my blog. This is just going to be a random list of things I am thankful for...I am doing it more for me than for any of my faithful readers, but my blog is the only place I can think of to put it that I will actually do it.

I think that's a great idea! I am so happy that Dave was able to go to church with you! I use my blog as a journal of sorts too...good luck and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
