On Tuesday afternoon I needed to have the kids over at their aunt's house by 3 so that they could go to their Mom's parents with them for a New Year's Eve family party. It was nice not to have to make two trips to Cedar City :) Anyway, before I took them over there, I took Chey and Kira to Build a Bear because Chey got a certificate for Christmas. After we were done there, we came home to find that Bryson and Katelyn had taken several of Kira's stuffed animals and hung them from the ceiling by yarn (like they were hung and dead). Needless to say, I had a couple of very upset little girls over this incident. I know all of this stuff is normal teenage/kid stuff, so I didn't make too big of a deal about it...but I also didn't make too big of a deal about the fact that Kira (who is pretty mild-tempered usually) threw a glass of water at Bryson. What goes around comes around, right?
So after the kids left Tuesday I had yesterday and today to recover. Trying to get the girls unpacked (from returning from Kansas LAST FRIDAY!!!), get the laundry caught up, get the house picked up...I am slowly getting there. I work tomorrow and then I am off til Tuesday, so by then hopefully I will get it all organized. Anyone that knows me knows that disorganization drives me CRAZY!
Last night for New Year's Eve we just hung out watching the Disney Channel New Years Eve thingy, had nachos, rice crispy treats, and Dr. Pepper. Anyway...by about 11 I was fading in and out of consciousness, but I did wake up long enough for the happy new year thing. Some neighbors were doing fireworks, too, which helped. Dave mostly played the Wii...not too interested in the Disney Channel.
Earlier in the evening last night I was thinking that I really ought to make a New Year's Resolution. It's hard to come up with one when you are practically perfect in every way (like Mary Poppins). The only thing I could come up with was lose weight, which has been on my list since about 1984. So I decided not to set myself up for failure and bagged the resolution thing this year. However, Grandma and Granddad got Dance Dance Resolution for their Wii and that looks kind of fun. Thinking about buying it sometime and seeing if I can fool myself into not knowing that it is exercise. Wish me luck!

Resolutions are hard for me. I like to think that I will accomplish them but then reality sets in!!!!
Love it...losing weight has been my resolution since before I can remember! I'm not so sure I want to commit to it this year either...but who knows maybe I'll find some inspiration!
