Paying Uncle Sam

This morning we started working on our taxes...now there is some lovely bonding time for married couples...the tedious task of digging through receipts just to get out of paying one more dime of taxes than you are obligated to pay. Because I derive such pride from saving money in any way I can, I always do itemized receipts when I donate stuff to Deseret Industries (that is sort of like Goodwill for those of you that do not live in the west). After we entered the W2's, etc., we start looking at my pages of items on the list of things that I donated. We started entering them, item by item, into the tax program. We entered about 15 items that I have donated to D.I., then Dave decided it was an irritating project and wants to stop. (That is my discrete way of saying he was grouchy). How rude!!! Doesn't he appreciate my desire to save money??? Anyway...we have agreed each of us will enter some of it and somehow by April 15, we will get it all in there. *Sigh* Why does it feel like tax season will never end?

That sounds like a-lot of FUN! Derek refuses to do our taxes and we ended up with a bill of $250....just to have our taxes done.
Ummmm, hasn't he taken like a hundred years of math courses? That is my way of saying he is LAZY when it comes to doing our taxes!
BUT, they are done.
