We The People...

This past Tuesday the fifth grade had a program that celebrated American History. It was in the afternoon so it was a good excuse for me to take the afternoon off :) There were quite a few patriotic songs in the program, with some speaking parts throughout. They taught us about Paul Revere, the Declaration of Independence, the 50 states, how The Star Spangled Banner song came to be, and the system of checks and balances that our three branches of government provide. Since Kira is not too tall she was in the front row, which she didn't like too much, but it was a really sweet program. Here are a few of music clips from it...

Fifty Nifty United States
(Who knew they could fit all fifty states in one song?)
