Cedar City

Yesterday we came down to Cedar City to see the kids. It was a little quieter than usual since Katelyn and Kira are not back from their dad's yet, but we still had fun. In the afternoon, Chey and I went to see Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs in 3D while the others went to Transformers. At Ice Age we got some geeky-looking plastic 3D glasses instead of the usual paper ones. Gonna keep them for at home when we watch Shark Boy and Lava Girl in 3D. I wonder how they do those effects anyway? It is so weird when it looks like things are happening in the middle of the theater room like that.

Chey and I also did a little bead shopping. I used to make jewelry all the time, but I haven't done it in quite a while. My friend, Heidi, has recently gotten into jewelry-making, though, and has rekindled my interest. After a swim and supper, Chey and I got to work on making our own creations. It was so fun to have just the two of us. Usually when she is with us she and Kira are busy and off on their own...so I really enjoyed the one on one time. She is such a great kid!

This one Chey and I did together (if you double-click on it then you can see it better)...

I did this one on my own...I love to wear pink!

Chey also did one with turquoise...the picture Papa took didn't turn out though : (

The (other) girls are having a good time with their dad. A few days ago they flew with their dad to Kansas and are now spending some time with their grandparents there. Aaron's wife's parents have a few horses, so they have been riding those nearly every day. Guess they might as well enjoy that while they can...not gonna happen around here!!! Kira will be home next Friday (Pioneer Day). I can't wait to see her. Katelyn won't be home til August 13...unfortunately for her, she gets to have surgery on her leg 5 days after that : (. She has had sort of a difficult health year, but she is very tough...just handles it all without complaint. Just love that kid!
