Utah Mormons...rambling

I was talking to one of my best friends (she lives in Oregon) on the phone today. I don't know how we got on the subject, but we started talking about people that you feel you can be totally yourself and vulnerable with vs. people that you cannot. Somehow that topic came around to church and then about "Utah Mormons" and how she felt that Utah Mormons need everything to be perfect so you don't want them to see your flaws. She said, "I'm sorry to say that because you are one." I was like...are you kidding me??? I am from Iowa! I am not a Utah Mormon!!! Don't get me wrong---there are many Utah Mormons that I know and love...and by the way in my book you are only a "Utah Mormon" if you have never resided outside of Utah. Living outside of Utah, even for a little while, gives you the unique perspective that you just cannot get living here your entire life. That being said, I'm staying here : )
