Life

I am in awe that it is December 5 already. You know what that means? It means I turned 39 today. That wouldn't be so bad, but that means next year is the big 4-oh. Holy crap! (I am sorry but a more delicate phrase like "holy cow" just will not do here.) When did I get so old? I still feel 25 in my head!!! Does that count? Oh, well---another year. Yesterday I got my hair colored dark brown (man, my gray is getting bad!) and cut shorter (about half-way between my chin and my shoulders). I actually like it quite a bit!

Anyway, things here have been busy as usual. The girls got back earlier this week from spending Thanksgiving at their dad's. I didn't get as early of a start on my Christmas shopping this year as I usually do, but I did the Black Friday thing and it is slowly coming together. This year will be the first time we have ever had all five of the kids together on Christmas Day and we are so excited for that! I have started working on my Christmas card list. I usually send a picture and do the letter thing with a paragraph about what each person is doing. For some reason I decided not to do that this year. I am being lazy...just ordering pre-made cards with the pictures built in. I figure between the blog and facebook you all know what we are up to anyway!

Kira had an orchestra concert this week. First the orchestra performed a bunch of songs, then they did one with the choir (hence, the choir is standing in front of them...where is my cute baby?!), then the choir performed some. I have been looking around me this week and recognizing just how blessed I am. I am so thankful for the wonderful kids we have. I am so thankful for a husband that loves me and works so hard. I am thankful for my little house and our cute little dogs and guinea pigs...just everything. Life is good. Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas season!
