Guilt

I am looking around my house this morning, seeing all of the things that need to be done, but not wanting to do ANY of it! Some days I just get so overwhelmed by all that there is to do. Working four days a week and trying to make time for the kids and the cleaning and all of my other miscellaneous things to do...makes me dearly wish I could cut back at work. However, that won't be happening any time soon. I have got to figure out a way to be better organized in my current situation. I am pretty sure accomplishing that will have something to do with the girls doing more housework. They are 11 & 14. When I was their age, I did a lot of housework...which I hated...and which is perhaps why I don't make them do as much as they should. Childhood should be fun. Sooo...how do I do this without the massive mommy guilt? Ideas, please!!!

You shouldn't feel guilty...you are teaching them not only how to take care of things, but also how to be more independent! I am so glad that my Mom taught me how to wash my own clothes and clean a bathroom long before I left for college...believe me, there were so many girls that had no idea how to do anything. I also think it teaches them to respect all that you do for them! So I think you should go for it.
