I wrote this post a few weeks ago, but we weren't ready to share the news yet, so I just saved it as a draft.
David and I have wanted to have a baby together for quite awhile, but it never seemed like the right time. Our life is somewhat complicated as it is, with Colton, Bryson, & CheyAnn living out of town. All of that back and forth can be difficult with a newborn. And then there is money...no matter what, there is never as much as you think that there needs to be. However, last November when my 39th birthday was staring at me, we decided that it's now or never. We decided that we were just going to have to trust that things will be ok and go for it.
This morning I found out that I am pregnant. David is working out of town for the weekend, so I told him on the phone(couldn't wait til he got home!). The funny thing was, we both knew...even before the test. We are so excited. Tears of happiness (and maybe a little nervousness) ran down my face. I am so thankful to have the opportunity to be a mom one last time. Nothing else in life is as important as that.
Fast forward to today (February 18, 2009): I am 7 weeks, 3 days into this. Nauseous sometimes, but on the whole I feel way better did when I was pregnant with the girls. Does that mean it is a boy? Stay tuned... Cravings: Ice cream, chocolate (what's new?), and hamburgers...really meaty ones. Today I wanted a steak and baked potato, but sometimes it is all that I can do to roll out of bed and have my morning Dr. Pepper.
