My Family Tree on My Mother's Side-Lyons Side

Grandma Marge was born in the front bedroom of Uncle Raymond's farm in Wayne County, Illinois. Coincidentally, Grandma Marge is the one that bought me my first makeup.  She took me to the mall and bought me Estee Lauder blush and lip gloss.

Grandma Marge's mother was Edna Lyons.  Edna was also born in Wayne County (near Fairfield), Illinois.   Edna's siblings included Raymond, Nettie (who married Jim Harris), and Dora (who married Ovid Long).  Dora's daughter, Edith, married Bert Simpson.  As a kid I can remember going to visit Edith and Bert's farm.  I got to ride on a horse and get the eggs out of the henhouse.  When my mom was a kid she got chased by their "watch-goose" (similar to a watchdog).

Nettie's kids included Oleta, Leota, and Novella. There were others as well.  I will have to get the family group sheets from mom for that history.

The Lyons and Curry families owned a fair bit of Wayne County, Illinois at the time.  When my mom used to go visit Uncle Raymond, she said there were a lot of relatives living all around him.
