My Life

As those of you that are on Facebook know, this past week I have been delving into my old photo albums. Once I got started looking at them, I couldn't seem to stop. It was so fun to go through them and see all of the pictures of the wonderful people that I have been blessed to have in my life. The thing that really stands out to me as I look at all of these old pictures is...I am always smiling. What a great thing it is to have a childhood like that (or maybe noone took pictures when I was crying, but hey, let me have my nostalgic moment here!). I guess what I am getting at is that even though mistakes have been made (plenty) and bumps in the road have ocurred, on the whole I have had a really great life and I feel so blessed. Here are a few other old pictures that I haven't posted on facebook:

Me & My Mom...on a picnic in Nauvoo, Illinois. We used to go there a lot when I was a kid.

My Brother, Dale, & Me...holding our new alarm clocks on Christmas morning.

Me & My Dad

Me And My Friends...at a youth conference dance. I was about 14 in this picture (strange to think that I have a kid of my own that is that old now). I still have that dress...it's in the dress-up box.

Me with Tammy LuGrain a/k/a "Tam Jo" after my high school graduation. Tam Jo was one of my BFF's...

Me with Stephanie Ferguson a/k/a "Fergie". Another of my BFF's. We had a lot of good times together! Our Theme Song: Love Shack by the B-52's...we used to play it loud all the time at her apartment : )

One of my adult BFF's, Becky...a/k/a Mi Estrella Favorita...long story...it all started with a smart aleck remark I made the first day of Spanish class at Rick's College. In this picture we were dressed up as nerds for a Halloween Dance. We named ourselves Burt and Freida and that dance was a blast!

BYU Homecoming 1992...my date was my then-boyfriend, Chris Mangum. I remember that dress (think I gave that away eventually). I know we went to the dance, but I really don't remember it at all!

Me & My Roommates, Tiffany & Becky, with our next door neighbor, Von. Von was a great friend to all of us. He lived next door to us and used to climb over the "chastity wall" to come over to the girls side of the apartment complex to visit us all of the time!

In a way it really is too bad that I never married this boyfriend, Eric Oliver. We had such a great "how we met" story. My second year at BYU my grandmother died about a week after I got back to school (that part sucked). I flew home for the funeral. After the funeral when I flew back to school I boarded the plane. Then onto the plane walks this LDS missionary. We were in Chicago, so I knew he must be going home. He sat down next to me. I said, "You're not one of those Mormons, are you?" He looked at me nervously and said "yes". I laughed and said so am I. We talked all of the way to Salt Lake and at the end of the flight he asked me out. We dated a couple of months. He was a nice boy.

Good times!

It is so funny to see you in the good old days!
I think you will be glad it is in your blog when you print it out!

@ Jenny---that is exactly why I posted it. My blog is my personal history. Some day when I am dead and gone, my kids will know that their mom had a good time in her life.
